The Work You Make Possible
Oasis Village is a community-based project. As we move to our goal of opening a safe, low barrier shelter offering our neighbors experiencing homelessness a path to more permanent housing, we want to share with you the work your support has enabled. Since receiving our 501 c3 status in March 2022, Oasis has sponsored the following community events:
October 3-7, 2022: Peer Support Training, which equips people with lived experience of poverty, homelessness and/or alcohol and drug dependency to mentor others seeking support with drug or alcohol recovery
May 26, 2022: Community Visioning by 20 community, government, and non-profit organizations to begin developing a vision for Oasis Village and addressing homelessness in Redmond
May 20, 2022: Community Poverty Simulation for Redmond. Learn more…
We are currently partnering with youth from the Redmond High School Construction Technology Program and Heart of Oregon Corps Youth Build to build shelter units while learning valuable skills, which will lead to rewarding careers. Learn more…
Our work is made possible by grants from Deschutes County, Central Oregon Health Council, the State of Oregon, St. Charles Healthcare Foundation, and donations from community members.
Construction of our shelter structures has been funded by sponsorships from Rotary Club of Redmond, Zion Lutheran Church, and private individuals. We are seeking additional shelter structure sponsorships at $10,000 per unit. If you are interested contact info@oasisvillageor.org. Partial sponsorships and other giving opportunities are available.
